Best Soup in Kitchener-Waterloo
Bread Baron: People are raving about this delicious sandwich shop opened and run by two Stratford Chef School grads. While the sandwiches are the main attraction, their constantly rotating soup menu has drawn both attention and praise. Some past offerings include split pea and bacon, leek and potato, brisket, bacon and barley, and lentil vegetable. Their mouthwatering soup is made from scratch and contains only Ontario produce and livestock… fresh, piping hot, delicious!
Vincenzo’s: Cheese tortellini, lobster bisque, butternut squash… who knew such luxurious soups were available right by Uptown Waterloo? We’ve mentioned Vincenzo’s before and we’ll do it again: their food is just that good! With multiple daily specials, you’re sure to find the perfect meal to keep you company on the couch tonight. You can even order soup “by the bucket” for a convenient take home option that will feed the whole family.
Pho Dau Bo: It wouldn’t be a soup list without pho! There are many different places to get pho in KW, but our personal favourite is Pho Dau Bo, right by the market in downtown Kitchener. Ben Thanh near Conestoga Mall is also a good option. Piping hot beef broth, mountains of rice noodles, and plenty of meat options make for a delicious meal, whether you eat in or take out.
Zoup: This chain restaurant may be the only place in KW that focuses mainly on soup. Although you can also purchase sandwiches and salads here, the main attraction is the soup. Choose from a huge variety including chicken pot pie, cajun chicken and sausage gumbo, soba noodle gazpacho, and more.
Seven Shores: Focused on organic food, this restaurant makes it easy to order vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free. Their sweet potato and leek soup is a crowd favourite, using local ingredients from Martin’s Family fruit farm. Pick up a coffee while you’re there to fight the early sunset!
