Let’s face it- when it comes to the world today, it can be pretty difficult to get by without a car. For some, it is necessary to drive every single day to get to work, pick up kids, or maintain a schedule that takes them all around the city. For others, it is easy to get by without driving. Easy, that is, until it comes time to pick up groceries, move furniture, or visit a relative who lives out of town! When faced with these occasional errands, it seems unavoidable to own a car. However, thanks to Waterloo Region CarShare, there is another option!
What is CarShare?
Community CarShare is a non-profit organization that provides its members with access to shared cars. Once you’re a member, cars can be rented out on a self-serve, pay-per-hour basis. The organization offers Occasional, Regular, Corporate Regular, and Corporate Distance plans with differing rates to suit a variety of needs. You can book your car online, or by calling the reservation line. Choose different models and sizes to meet your current needs, pick up your car at the community lot, and go!
Why use CarShare?
CarShare is not, of course, for everyone. That being said, it really does offer an affordable and eco-friendly option for the occasional driver. Rather than juggling car payments, insurance, maintenance fees, and fuel, consider these prices. As pointed out on the website, an Occasional or even Regular plan can easily replace a second car, or cover occasional errands. Because CarShare requires membership, it is better for long term rental needs.
