Toronto is in the midst of opening their very first dog cafe, and we couldn’t be more excited! The Wishbone Cafe‘s vision for this new concept is a way of incorporating rescue and adoption into a traditional cafe. Their hope for the cafe is to provide a safe and happy home for up to six dogs to roam freely and enjoy the company of people. Patrons of the cafe will be able to enjoy a coffee, regular cafe fare, and of course, cuddle sessions with the dogs! Ideally, this environment will provide a happy, temporary home for these pups, with plenty of human contact and attention, as well as providing the exposure they need to get adopted by a loving family. Check out the Wishbone’s facebook page for updates, and to find out more about the cafe’s opening!
If you already have a furry friend and live in the Toronto area, consider checking out pawsway. Their concept is fairly different, as the idea is for pet owners to come with their dogs (and cats) for training sessions, workshops, and other events. However, they do have a cafe on site where animals are welcome!
