I love what I do! There is no greater feeling than helping someone buy a home they have fallen in love with or helping a family bid farewell to a home that has been an integral part of their story. But I wasn’t always a Real Estate Agent…
I grew up in Western Canada close to the mountains and the sun. I am an outdoor enthusiast with an avid love for animals and nature. Educated as a Biologist, the first eight years of my career were spent teaching at Wilfrid Laurier University. This part-time position allowed me to embrace my full-time job; being mom to my three wonderful kids, Jerrel, Maggie and Wesley. In 2006, when the kids got older, I decided to leave teaching to try something completely different and embarked on my real estate journey.
Some of my friends and colleagues thought it was a crazy move and that I would be bored. However, it soon became clear to me that the field offered endless challenges and opportunities for continuous learning. What’s more, I was in a position to give meaning and value to people and give back to my community; the perfect combination of my favourite things!
My Story Today – Tracey Appleton
From the beginning, the most critical factors to me are listening closely to my clients and staying ahead of the curve. I embrace innovation and continue my education to bring all the very latest to my clients and to make sure of their success.
That is why I worked tirelessly to become a Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Specialist, a designation held by approximately 8% of 87, 000 Coldwell Banker sales associates. Coldwell Banker Global Luxury is a comprehensive marketing effort designed specifically for marketing luxury residential properties to affluent buyers worldwide.
This strategy worked well and in my first year as a realtor, I was chosen as Rookie of the Year at Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty, having achieved the highest sales volume of all Sales Representatives who began that year. Each year since then I have received the Ultimate Service Award for Outstanding Customer Service, as well as monthly Achiever Awards. In April 2016, I was also given The Spirit Award and the President’s Circle Award, and in April 2017, I was recognized with the International President’s Circle Elite Award, an award held only by the top 2% of all Coldwell Banker sales associates worldwide.
In the Community
I also take an active interest in volunteering with the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors (KWAR). Some of the various committees I have sat on include Professional Standards, MLS, Governance and By-Laws.
I get great joy from giving back to our amazing community. From 2006 to 2012, I was first a Director, then Vice Chair and finally Chair with Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. I am Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region (2016). Most recently I joined a very special group of friends and colleagues to welcome a refugee family to our community. I feel a great responsibility and passion for improving the quality of life for all and have a special interest in ensuring access to safe shelter. There really is no place like home!
In 2007, in recognition of my volunteer work in the community and my role in helping to plan and carry out “Trees for Toys”, a holiday season event which collects hundreds of toys for families in need in our region, I was awarded the Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty President’s Award. Most recently, I was presented with The Spirit Award for my work helping to make Kitchener –Waterloo home to a Syrian refugee family, and the Coldwell Banker Canada Ambassador Award.
In my free time I enjoy reading…a lot. I also love skiing, hiking, curling, spending time with friends and family and enjoying many of the cultural events and entertainment that our community has to offer.
I would love to help you with any of your real estate questions whether buying or selling. Let’s grab a coffee and chat!
