There are so many amazing farms and fields where you can pick your own fruit in and around Waterloo Region! Fresh, sweet strawberries, plump blackberries, juicy corn… you name it! Pick your own fields are great for a variety of reasons, but most of all for the experience! Bring along family or friends to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, and pick out the ripest produce for yourself. Plus, as an added benefit, the fruit you harvest yourself often comes with a much cheaper price tag. If you’re sold on picking produce in and around Kitchener-Waterloo, read on to find out where you can go!
Herrle’s Country Farm: If you live in Kitchener-Waterloo, chances are you know about Herrle’s! Starting in mid to late June, you can head to their strawberry fields in St. Agatha to pick your own! They also sell fresh fruit and vegetables in their store.
Nauman’s Farm & Country Market: Nauman’s in St. Clements offers another nearby farm to pick strawberries to your heart’s delight! You can also pick up some pre-chopped rhubarb while you’re there, so you can make the perfect pie.
Bayfield Berry Farm: Pick your own raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and saskatoon berries at this berry farm in Bayfield. You can also pick up other fresh produce!
Megen’s Family Farm: Just 10 minutes south of Stratford, this family farm offers more pick your own produce. They have very little information online, so it would probably be wise to call ahead to see what fruit is in season and available!
McClymont Century Orchards: Head here for apples, cherries, pears and plums! At the orchard you can pick your own, or buy directly from the stand at the gate.
Cherry Avenue Farms: Pick your own cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, and more! Check their website to see what’s in season, or call ahead to make sure the weather and picking conditions are good. They are located near Niagara, about half an hour from Hamilton.
