No matter how much space you may have in your home, chances are you’re always looking for ways to create more. Luckily, through effective organization and storage solutions, you really can add space to your home! (It’s like making something out of nothing). There are hundreds of different ways to utilize storage throughout your whole house, but today we are focusing on solutions that will help you get the most out of your bedroom!
Floating nightstands are a great way to save space in a small bedroom, as they help make the space feel larger. They’re also useful because you can use the space under the shelf to stash slippers, extra (folded) blankets, or even a pet bed! Plus, if you have an especially cozy room where your bed is almost touching the walls on either side, floating shelves are the best solution.
Under The Bed
There’s nothing revolutionary about the idea of utilizing the space under your bed, but the truth is that many people still don’t do it! Using the space under your bed is a huge game changer for small bedrooms, because there really is so much storage under there. Store off season clothes, extra blankets and sheets, books, and just about anything else!
If you already own a bed frame that you refuse to part with and that makes storage under the bed truly impossible, consider purchasing a headboard instead. You can buy headboards with sliding drawers that pull out from either side, or open up at the top like a thin, deep chest of drawers.
Use a Fold-Down Desk
If it seems like there’s no room for a desk in your bedroom, consider installing a fold-down desk instead. This kind of desk folds right up into the wall, so your room will not look overly crowded with furniture. When you need to use it, just pull down from the wall and get to work!
Install High Floating Shelves
Use the wall space all around the top of your room to install shelving that won’t take up any of your precious floor space. These can be used to hold books, precious knick knacks you don’t want to part with, bags and shoes, and more.
Add Hooks to Your Closet Wall
You know that wall at the back of your closet that seems like a write off? It isn’t! If you install hooks on this back wall, you can hang plenty of extra clothing, off season jackets, belts, and more. Make sure you don’t store frequently used items here, though, because they will be hidden behind your other clothing.
