Wondering what kinds of events are coming up in and around Waterloo Region for 2017? Look no further! We have once again compiled a list of the many different workshops, carnivals, and entertainment taking place from July to September, 2017. Want to learn more about the different things you can do in and around Kitchener-Waterloo? Check out our events page and our things to do page. They should provide you with plenty of inspiration… and if you see an activity that has already gone by, try googling it. Many of the events that we talk about are reoccurring, so if you miss them, chances are you’ll get another opportunity to check them out!
Upcoming Events Waterloo Region 2017
July 25th: Kids in the Kitchen. An awesome activity for chocolate loving kids or grandkids aged 7 to 13! Beanermunky Chocolate in Hamilton hosts a workshop to teach dipping, piping, and molding skills, as well as a little bit about where chocolate comes from. Other Kids in the Kitchen dates include August 12th and 15th.
July 27th: Seasonal Summer Dishes. Plant Inspired Kitchen in Woodstock invites you to learn how to make light summer dishes including fresh salads, baby potatoes, and coconut vanilla ice cream! Adult workshop.
July 29th/30th: Corn Carnival. The Apple Factory in Mississauga is hosting this fun-filled two day carnival. If you have kids or grandkids between the ages of 3 and 12, it’s worth the drive! The “Excalibur” bounce castle promises to “put all competition to shame” with a 14′ slide, climbers, and basketball nets! Plus, other exciting carnival games and face painting promise to keep your kids entertained. Grilled Ontario Sweetcorn and hot, fresh popcorn, both with a delicious variety of seasonings, offer yet another reason to check out this two day carnival.
August 23rd: Festival of Fools. Head to Bingemans in Kitchener for an evening of food, wine, and fantastic entertainment! This charity event helps support KW Counselling and the Sun Life Buskers Carnival, and you will have the opportunity to watch some of the best street performers from around the world show you their stuff!
September 9th: Small Pantry Canning. Want more control over what goes into the food that you and your family are eating? Have you always wanted to try canning, but are worried about canning safety? Attending this 3 hour workshop will give you everything you need to know about small batch canning and food safety.
September 16th: Ontario’s Breakfast on the Farm. Farm and Food Care Ontario is hosting this free event to help you get a glimpse of Ontario farm life! Tour farms and see animals, equipment, and talk with Ontario farmers, plus enjoy a free breakfast featuring Ontario foods. This event is in Listowel, and you will need to get your tickets ahead of time (they are free).
