Uptown Waterloo is quickly becoming a foodie hotspot as more restaurants and bars turn their attention towards quality and local food. As such, the huge success of White Rabbit is certainly no surprise. The self-described “Spirit House” has the largest selection of spirits in Waterloo Region, and offers a wide variety of tasting paddles on their extensive liquor menu, including bourbon and Irish whiskey paddles. However, drinks are not the only thing this small establishment gets right. Their delicious, handcrafted food comes highly praised by normal patrons and food critics alike.
White Rabbit is just one of many wonderful places to grab a bite to eat or a handcrafted cocktail in Waterloo’s flourishing Uptown. The restaurant, located on the main strip of King street, has an intimate and classic feel. Garage doors, graphics of The Rolling Stones, and a long wooden bar taking up one side of the room help contribute to the relaxed but edgy atmosphere. The kitchen offers different specials, including ramen and sapporo Mondays, and all-you-can-eat mussels on Wednesdays! Plus, tall cans of Wellington Brew are just $5 on Wednesdays after noon.
Classic sandwiches, various charcuterie boards, and plenty of meat such as smoked brisket and Texas cheese steak are also on offer. Personally, I tried the Agnolotti: house made goat cheese stuffed pasta in a light but sweet sauce, topped with candied pecans. Absolutely delicious!
No matter where you live in KW, chances are there’s fresh, delicious, handcrafted food available a stone’s throw away. White Rabbit is just one of the fantastic destinations to choose from in Uptown Waterloo. We highly recommend a visit: their food and drink selection is just as fantastic as their 4.8 star Facebook reviews suggest!
